Should I buy a General Sale Ticket?

We’ve received this question a lot, and we’d hoped to relieve some of the anxiety by having early Stewards’ applicants notified sooner. Unfortunately, due to uncertainty around ticket budgeting and a busy production team, we haven’t been able to review artist and theme camp applications. As a result, those leads will have to wait a bit longer for confirmation on how many tickets they’ll have for their teams.

  • If you’re a signed-up production volunteer, a production lead, a GVIAS committee member, a 2024 production volunteer or a BC Ranger:
    • No, Steward tickets are guaranteed and have started rolling out, check your inbox, or contact your respective lead.
  • If you’re an artist or camp lead / co-lead:
    • No, if you apply (or applied) by June 11th, you and your co-leads are guaranteed a Steward Ticket
  • If you’re part of an essential crew for the project:
    • No, as an essential member of the project (i.e. without you it’s likely not happening) you’re guaranteed a Steward Ticket
  • If you’re just helping at the bar or tail end of a project build:
    • Probably buy a general ticket, but you’re welcome to wait and find out.

FAQ

If I miss out on the Steward Sale or there are none left, will I still be able to get a General ticket?

Yes, General Sale tickets are plentiful and we are expecting minimal capacity constraints this year. So if you wait to see if you can get one, you will get a General ticket, promise! Plus, we are holding back a sizeable strategic reserve of tickets, just in case we need to facilitate any sudden increases in demand or additional camp members that need tickets.

If I buy a General ticket, can I exchange it for a Steward Ticket and get a refund directly from the ticketing team?

Unfortunately, NO. As a 100% volunteer-driven event hosted by a non-profit, the labour and financial costs of processing numerous refunds exceeds our capacity. If you think you might qualify for a Steward Ticket, please contact your lead before purchasing a general ticket to see if you’ll be included in their budget.

Will there be enough Steward Tickets for my camp or art project?

We have allocated a significant budget and expect to accommodate most requests. That said, we do reserve the right to limit excessive camp or art project ticket requests if necessary.
